One of the great poets of the twentieth century, Nazim Hikmet was often described as a “romantic revolutionary.” Despite achieving international fame for his lyrical poetry and being published in fifty languages, he was repeatedly arrested for his political beliefs. Hikmet was one of Che Guevara’s favorite poets.
